Black Belt Grading

The next Black Belt grading will be on Sunday 9th October - 11am - 2pm at Malvern St James

Candidates for 1st to 3rd Dan must attend both the pre-black belt assessment sessions. Attendence at both is mandatory if you wish to be invited to grade.

• 1st pre-grade date - Sunday 4th September 10.00am - 12.30pm
• 2nd pre-grade date - Sunday 25th September 11.00am - 1.30pm

4th Dan and above is by invitation only. Thesis and interview process applies for these Senior grades only.

All pre-gradings and black belt gradings are held at Malvern Tae Kwon Do Academy at Malvern St James Sports Centre, Malvern, Worcestershire, WR14 3LH

All candidates will be assessed on the full IMA syllabus (whether it is used on the Black belt grading or not) and that includes but not limited to fitness, 1, 2, and 3 step sparring, knife work, self defence, patterns, pad work, sparring, power breaking and general line work. All of which candidates should be able to demonstrate efficiently and realistically without hesitation or prompting.

They should also bring with them on the first pre-grade a fully completed up to date licence and a current Insurance slip. The official white IMA doboks must be worn at all pre-grade sessions.

Please Note - All students, red belt and above, are welcome to attend the pre-grading sessions to gain additional experience.
